Those that do, how well does the auto deploy/stow work? Any issues , regrets? I have one on order , never been able to see one in action, everyone sold out and they are backordered. I hope to get one in the next 3 months.

they are great for center consoles to fish open water not so much for bass boats the mounts stick out over the front of the boat an the mounts an the gear boxes that run the up an down are not made to hit rocks an trees like a normal trolling motor would take.

I had an Ulterra on my bass boat for several years. It worked great and the auto deploy/stow is awesome. I tried something stupid and wound up burning up something in the control panel. Lowrance warranty fixed it, but took several months for the guys at Jones Trolling Motors (Texarkana) to get parts. Don't try and put anything on the head and just use the built in transducer and you will not have any problems.

I wish I still had one but the extra length needed hang over the end was to much to load boat into boathouse and close the door. Yes I cut it a little to close when having the boathouse built.

I liked everything about the Ulterra, especially the stow and deploy and trim.

Please delete if not allowed. I have a 36v 112 lb MDI less than a year old I am trying to sell. came on my 2019 rt188 and am going to replace with an ultrex 24v 80lb.

The ulerra works great, but the auto deploy/stow makes me a little nervous even though I have not had the slightest hiccup. The thing I like about it the most is that I can trim the shaft up and down depending on the depth of water I am fishing. The biggest reason I want to get rid of it is that the 188 is really tight with having to have 3 12v batteries in the back just for the TM.

Well that is a deal killer for me then, My Terrova has taken a real beating at times, can't afford to trash a new trilling motor. Thanks

I had one on a Ranger for 3 years,From the time the came out. Hit plenty of stumps and rocks and never broke one.
I do pay attention to my surroundings and don't go through a stump field on high. The shaft on the ulterra is the same shaft as on the ultrex and breaks at the same strength. I doubt that the guy that wrote the post has ever had one.
If you abuse the [censored] out of your trolling motor it will break. Doesnt matter which one you buy.

I am on my second Ulterra, I bass fish exclusively and have never had an issue. I upgraded to the 60" shaft when I got my new boat and sold my old Ulterra to a local crappie guy who is still using it. There is a bow overhang issue with both the Terrova and Ulterra but installing a ShuttleSlide mount pretty much eliminates any issues. As a Senior the convenience of never having to manually deploy or stow a traditional trolling motor is PRICELESS. Solo launching is a breeze as well.

Thanks, Good report. The Ulterra should mount on my existing quick disconnect setup my Terrova is on. I get worn out pulling the Terrova up. I like to fish from sunrise to whenever I'm too tired. The single most azz whipping on the water is balancing on the bow to step on the release lever and then lean over and pull that bitch straight up then pull it aft till it locks all while bent over at the waist.

Bought mine in 2015 and have not had any problems with it. I bass fish mainly but I do have a center console so the overhang isn't a problem for me. Would not go back to manual deploy trolling motor especially at 77.

My boat is a CC as well, i also really like the idea of the trim function to trim up out of the junk, at 65 I'm not interested in working out on purpose.

looks like ill keep it on backorder and wait , they are hard to get

Had one on my bay boat for about a year before I sold it this past July. I strictly bass fished out if it and never had an issue. I would suggest getting the micro remote to go with it as the remote that comes with it is too big and heavy. I mounted that one on the dash.

The TRIM function is really handy particularly is you fish shore lines and get lures hung up a lot in shallow water. Being able to raise the motor by trimming allows you to go into extremely shallow water to retrieve your lure without the hassle of having to deal with a cable steer unit.

Have one on my CC. Only issue I had was when my TM batteries went bad, the auto deploy freaked out. So you need to know how to do an emergency re-deploy to bring it up. My boat is a bay boat but it's a Skeeter with a hull much closer to a bass boat. I fish in stump fields just fine and do it on Fork with no issues. The trim is fabulous. The foot pedal isn't near as good as on an Ultrexx but it's good enough. I use the foot pedal most of the time.

I have an Ulterra on my bass boat. Works perfectly. I use the remote more than the foot control. I crappie and bass fish. I do have it mounted on shuttle slide.

This allows me to slide the unit back when not in use. MinnKota makes a slide mount as well, along with other after market companies.
