I was fortunate to be on the lake this week, not once but twice. Bite was slow throughout both days but it was enjoyable the same. I got to meet the legend Tuesday and we agreed to not share our favorite spots but after a few moments he had me giving up everything. It wasn’t until he left that I realized my error. Oh well, turns out my spots were actually his spots. Anyway, it was a pleasure meeting Vogey and I hope to meet Doc next time.
My wife informed me she was off work Friday and when I suggested we go fishing; well, I wasn’t surprised she wanted to go. After breakfast in town, we got a late start to the lake. She wasn’t happy I was catching five to her one, but I could tell she was having a blast.
Caught close to 50 on Tuesday and 55, including one catfish, on Friday. All fish were caught on gulp alive (Chartreuse, black shad minnows and Breen crickets). Lake was mostly calm both days.

Great post ! 2 trips in one week is awesome ! But you need to get while the getting is good as the perch season is
going to rapidly come to a halt once cool fronts start up. Then it will be time to get out the bass rods.
