There was a family from my home town who hand land basically deemed useless by the building of RC, they sued the fort worth water district and won. It took so long with appeals that by the time the final judgment came down and they were payed the grandchildren got the money, many many millions with accrued interest, both the grand parents and their parents had died. I think it was 15 years or so...

If I were a contractor, large or small, AISD would be on my blacklist. No bids, no work. No phone calls. It is the only way to get their attention. If this is the first time it has happened, it would be the last time.

They probably learned by watching Jerry build his stadium. More than 1 contractor claimed to be shorted in that ordeal

He mentions that they could find anyone to do the work. I wonder if the other companies knew what was up? Maybe it was just a busy time with the freeze.

We inspect, test, and maintain all of AISD's fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, and fire extinguishers and in fact did the freeze repairs on just about every one of their schools during the great freeze and we have never had any problems getting paid from them. We have also done some huge renovations. We don't do business with customers who don't pay or slow pay, and they have been a great business partner for us.

And for the record, courts should look at this stuff and expidiate certain circumstances. You should not be able to break a defendant based on cost of litigation etc if the defendant can show cause that they are legitimately in the right and I have seen courts apply credit card interest rates to stuff like this so Arlington should be careful. 1.2 million could turn into 3 or 4 million after 3 or 4 years if it gets in front of the right judge.

School districts aren't what I consider "the government". Judge with some spine should put them in their place.

NTMWD started the trend several years ago claiming they don't have to abide by their agreements. I guess we get used to it. realmad

Maybe RJ and employees can quit paying taxes to the government for restitution
