Anyone familiar with Champion Bay boats? I know their bass boats are wonderful boats, but in doing some research I found a little chatter about transom issues. I'm looking at a 2005 model that seems to be in good condition.

In the striped bass section there is a guy by the name of Gene. He has a CC Champion I believe, or used to.
He would be a good contact. A simple "Hey Gene" post and the message should get to him.

Man if you can get that beast on plane in 6" of water that is magic. My Kenner won't even float in 6" of water and its not that big. Nice looking boat. I have always been impressed with their reputation.

My bad. It is supposed to read 1.5 ft as read on the depth finder. Actual water depth would be about 2.5. Sorry to miss lead.

They do get up and go quickly, but it's never to be confused with a flats rig. Not ever.

They are indeed an amazing ride. I guarantee if Galveston, Sabine or Matagorda were my home water, that's exactly what I'd be running.

It's a shame they stopped building them. It is my understanding that they fashioned the Ranger Bahia hulls from this boat. It looks Ranger stopped making the Bahia in 2017. Love this boat. cool
