Courtesy docks are there as a courtesy for boaters. That's why they are located at boat ramps and have cleats on them. If there is no one there and someone is fishing there, fine, but he needs to reel in and get out of the way when a boat comes in.
I do worry about fishing line in the water around courtesy docks. When Billy Joe gets hung up while fishing there you know he cuts or breaks off his line. People swimming on the end of the ramps gets me, and they look at you like you are the problem..... This used to be really bad at Alvarado, some fat [censored] woman and her many children all over the ramp swimming and running wild bitching at ya for backing the trailer down while she's wallering in the water Wallering? BAHAHAHAHA good one. It's pronounced and spelled "wallering" in Johnson County

On several occasions I thought I had actually killed people because they’re damn sure not getting out of your way. And oh how true it’s always fat arse women with tattoos across their back and shoulders.

And it is even better when they are too drunk to handle their kids and it is dark like what I encountered at Lake Austin

I usually launch my boat, pull up to the dock any way I please, and wait to get yelled at. Makes for a pleasant rest of my day.

The worst thing I have seen is people setting up chairs and fishing off the ramp. I use to see it off Dalrock fairly often. I was trying to load up at Terry Park on Hubbard before they built the dock. Some dude unloaded his jet skis and left kids, including an infant, floating about 15' off the ramp. I started to back down slowly. I was wanting to get the boat off the gravel beach. The dude comes running down and starts getting in my face as I am trying to back down. Closest I have been to a fight in quite a while.

Last week a guy backed down, got out and went to his ski boat tied up on dock and loaded it on the trailer, spent forever trying to get out of the boat onto the back of his truck to keep from getting his feet wet while a woman sat in the passenger seat. pulled up 100 ft and proceeded to put his gear away, put tie downs on, carry sheet from boat to truck, on and on and on. I was sitting there waiting right in his grill to back down and he never acted like he had a clue why I was sitting there. The woman in the passenger side , she never got out to help. When he got a ski rope out and started trying to untangle it to coil it up, i got out and walked over and pointed to the huge parking lot and asked him if he might pull up out of the way so me and the other guy behind me could get on with our business, he just looked at me like i asked him if i could borrow his boat and kept on coiling up the ski rope. I think he hates fisherman.
GOD is good!

I thought all OT badassess just slung their boats out into the lake and expected someone to take them to it? It works very well and it really speeds up launching with a lot of boats
