I agree. I like the new model CT for squarebills and Bandits. I like the last generation CT for throwing 5-6” swimbaits. I hope they resurrect the Type-R but that may be what they’re using the Tatula Elite to replace. Not sure if it’s super tuned like the Type-R’s. I was able to snag 1 Type-R new in box on EBay after they had discontinued them and I love it

I’ve never been able to decide which I like better - Diawa or Shimano, can’t go wrong with either. I still own and use several older Team Diawa Td-X ‘s that were about as backlash free as any reel I’ve ever used. One day I’ll say the tatulas or CT’s are as good as it gets, the next day I’ll say the chronarchs, curados or even the citicas are hard to beat.

I’ve used the new Tatula’s and wasn’t impressed at all…. I will stick with my curado’s and metaniums….
