For largemouth bass, length limit is a 16-24” slot. Bass 16 inches and less or 24 inches or greater in length
So how do you guys do this? If a fish touches 16 its good to keep/weigh in? That's a fine line of touching 16 vs going over 16. I feel like for the over, its safer as all it has to do is touch 24 and its good.

Many tournament directors have different opinions. However, if you get it wrong it will mean being DQ'd and if the game warden is there a $250 ticket.
Read the rules and ask the TD if you are unsure.

All the ones I've read / seen...read that if it's 16" then it's slot. AKA...if it touches, it's 16" and slot...ergo no weigh in.

Depends on the tournament. All Bass Champs sponsored tournaments, the fish CAN touch 16. Just cant go over. Almost all the rest of the tournaments Ive ever fished out there, they CANNOT touch 16. All fish must at least touch 24 to be considered an over.
****Clarify with the TD and determine which board they are measuring on!!!!!

I think in agreement that if it touches 16, its too close to chance. My tournament rules state that for Fork we use the TPWD site regulates for Fork. which reads For largemouth bass, length limit is a 16-24” slot. Bass 16 inches and less or 24 inches or greater in length.

According to the letter of the law it can only touch 16" (not even a hair over the line. However, it MUST touch 24" or be over.

****Clarify with the TD and determine which board they are measuring on!!!!! If you are fishing any events on Fork this is critical to know. The Check-It-Stick and the Pro-Rule measure fish differently, not by much but enough to get you into trouble if you don't have the right board.

I got a warning from the GW - it was rather embarrassing standing there in front of everyone while he wrote me up. But he was either kind enough or smart enough or both to ask me to go get my measuring stick which was my buddies Ranger labeled one that came with his boat. It was a hair out of measurement with the Check It Stik. So he saw where I made a good faith effort to get it right. So I got my partner a Check It Stik for Christmas that year and inexplicably lost the old one overboard one outing
