I was fishing at Canyon lake by the Cranes Mill Park fishing dock and there were tons of Gar eating bugs all morning. They wouldn't touch anything I threw at them, but maybe a fly fisherman could entice them? They're not huge, the biggest one I saw was about 4 feet or so, but they were all over the south end of that bay.

I saw a big mofo while kayaking in Christmas Bay on Sunday. He rolled over right between me and and a buddy. Must have been 5 or 6 feet easy

They may not have been feeding. Gar come up and gulp air every once in a while.

Been seeing a lot of gar lately surfacing at a lot of the places I fish . They are active especially during the morning. thumb
