am running HB 999 ( consol) HB 798 ( front) --Minn Kota Terrova 80 w/I-pilot----want to upgrade to HB Helix 12 ( console) HB Helix 10 or 12 ( on front)-----HB told me these are compatible/will work
QUESTION----do I have to rewire or make changes????

Everything is the same except transducers, you will have to replace them. You will need an Ethernet adapter cable for reach helix due to the helix units using a quick release cable tray

Hummingbird said MK Terrova would link with upgrade or do I attach different transducer to trolling motor???--- need new transducer in back ( console)???

Are you referring to I pilot link upgrade kit? The 798 and 999 will use the same power and Ethernet cables, only the mega transducer is different

I already have I-pilot so wiring is the same??? add Mega transducer?? yes, yes I pilot and I pilot link are different. Link has an ethernet cable to connect to the ethernet box.

He's replacing a Humminbird with another Humminbird. He has all the wiring he'll need if he is just replacing head units and adding a Mega Transducer.

Doesn't mention link. Link has the ability to communicate with the Helix for contour following among other things. There is an upgrade kit for the Terrova to bring it up to Link. He mentions "Hummingbird said MK Terrova would link with upgrade". I'm assuming his terrova is strictly Ipilot. The transducer connection has nothing to do with link.
