The northeast got slammed by Hurricane Ida and I measured over 5" of rain after one day. My pond came up over 1 1/2' due to an inflow pipe and was murky. So I decided to let things cool off in a local lake I know pretty well and fish it two days after the storm. The lake was also up but not as much due to the dam overflow. I added a foot to deep fish-holding areas, less so in shallow areas. I was not disappointed! Fish were caught in 7'- 4' and everywhere in between.
Pan fish of different sizes bit and sometimes a dozen were caught with the boat anchored. Here are a few:

Bass as usual for this lake were unimpressive but they hit the same lures as the pan fish:

This is where the water flows in and you can see how murky the water was at the north end of the lake from all the rain:

Further south the water was less murky but in either case it didn't matter. Find fish - catch fish!

Where I catch fish at times amazes me even in this lake - one that I've fished for over 20 years. I found areas parallel to shore out about 40' and caught fish in water less than 5'. Sometimes I'd catch fish right up against the shore where the water had risen.

One thing about fishing in general is the variety of locations that can change in 24 hours. All fish counted even smaller fish and getting good hooksets over and over made me one happy camper!
