Well I would have a video to add to this post if I hadn't left the cameras on the boat...

Me and Wy got out early, on the water at 5:15. Got bait. Caught 2 big buffalo in the cast net at the same time and it almost cost me a net. I got a couple brail lines to repair.

Fishing was slow. The dog days are hear and the water is hot. I am really looking forward to those cool rains and the trigger effect they will have on the fish.

I was surprised that there were not more boats on the water. By the time we got off it was 11:00 and there was hardly anybody out there yet. I'm sure that changed as the day went on.

Pulled a long drift over the flats to start and only got a couple. Wy was on his game yesterday. He wanted to get em all. I was happy to let him. He was ready to head home and get in the pool by about 6:30 but I talked him into staying out a while longer...

He ended up with a couple small ones and a nice fun sizer. it was right at 10 pounds... I'll put up the video when I get back out to pull the cameras.

God Bless and Tight Lines Y'all!

Forgot to mention. I also got a tilapia in the cast net. Can anybody say whether they are a legal bait or not? They look a lot like a bream, so to a catfish I'm sure they would eat just the same as one...

Awesome, Tim!

fish

Look at that kids smile!

I went early just to try to grab some bait in my cast net. No joy on the ramps given all the boats, but much luck on the secret spot you put me onto in the marina. A net full of some bait and some nice shad.

Thanks again for the tip.

cheers

We also caught two talapia in a cast net at East Fork. Never seen them on Lavon before. Boney heads on those things.
