I stay at my girlfriend's place in the Woodlands a lot. Before dating her I was going all over chasing bass. Now I can't do much to get a fix, because it seems like there aren't many spots to go in the area. I know Lake Raven and Lake Conroe. I have looked at the rivers nearby and they are pure chocolate milk and high current. Are there any ponds, rivers, or small lakes within an hour of the Woodlands that I could put in a boat or kayak?

Just trying to catch em all.

There is Lake Woodlands. You can have some good days and not so good days there. Never caught any monsters there but I suppose there are some in there. You can launch a big boat, but it is trolling motor only. Haven’t been there in a long time. They do have a good ramp there.
There is also Bear Branch if you have a kayak. It’s a little bit of a hike from the parking lot to the launch area so it’s best to have your kayak on some wheels. It can be decent too. I’ve never caught a monster there either but you can at least get a tug on the end of your line.
Good Luck

Have a Blessed Day,
Mike

Bear Branch has a serious algae bloom going. Like anything you throw will come back covered in green brown slime. I guess the runoff from the rain brought in fertilizers. hopefully it clears up.
