Do the Bull Reds run at about the same time from Galveston down to South Padre, or does it start earlier in the Northern areas? Want to fish for them this year, wanted to try and go at the right time. I'll probably be going to Galveston area. Thinking maybe 2nd or 3 week of October.

We've always had great luck in early September. All the way from from the Galveston jetties to San Luis Pass. The beachfront piers were also really really good overnight, seeing hundreds of them being caught on some nights

My son caught this one late last week a couple miles northeast of Surfside. Impressive work on medium action tackle and 12 lb test mono. We were wade fishing the surf for specs using Rattletraps.

Beginning of November is primo time for them. Once the first couple of cold fronts roll through then get after them.

We’ve tried early October with some success and late August with none. We always take a crew trip at work so we’re going next weekend. Here’s one of the guys in October.
