Made a quick trip to the Dunlap River and it was simply horrible to say the least. Fished three hours and only caught five fish. One bass, one Channel Cat, and three small Bluegill. River is holding plenty of water with a nice current. Talked with several kayak anglers who were not doing well either. A couple of said the fishing pressure has been high all summer long. Will not be fishing Dunlap all that much anymore until the dam is repaired.

Side Note: Fished the Austin area two weeks ago and did FANTASTIC! Plenty of nice Bluegill, Redear, and Hybrid Sunfish. coolio

Curtis...That has been the story on river Dunlap all year long. I would think that there are a few deep holes that would hold most of the fish...maybe they just get overfished ? If you have the time and stamina in the heat I would recommend a trip to FCL b4 the summer ends, but let me know b4 you go...

A slow day catching makes a good day so much better! As for Dunlap I have only fished it a couple of times this year and did about the same as you on your latest trip. I doubt I will be fishing Dunlap anytime soon. eeks
