I saw this on TV a few days ago. Start w/ getting a bunch of McDonald's French Fries and putting them into a blender and then add milk. Blend and make your gravy!! Ratio of milk to fries unknown.

I wonder if catchup would work instead of milk.

I saw a guy making them out of sour cream and onion Ruffles with a little hot water and butter in a blender. How much worse than dried potato flakes can it be?
