I’m trying to get a recommendation for a good guide on Lake Whitney who will take us throwing artificial’s. I know shad is the easier way to get your limit, but I’ve got a 12-year-old who’s turning 13 in October who wants to go on an artificial trip on Whitney for his birthday. Any recommendations on a good teaching artificial guide on Whitney? Thanks guys

OK, thanks for the advice guys. I have heard good things about Clay, but looking at his Facebook page it looks like he’s mainly a shad man? I don’t know if he does artificial trips or not? I will also look up Pat Smalls. I have been on some epic artificial striper trips on Texoma. I know Whitney is not Texoma but I hear it’s pretty good these days.

Whitney has a tough artificial bite during the summer, most all of the quides use live bait during the summer. During the fall and all throughout the winter and spring the artificial bite is outstanding, you should be able to find plenty guides on Whitney that can get you on an artificial bite but clay and Pat have been doing it for years with great success

Been with Clay and he does do artificials. Pat is also a good reccommendation. If those 2 are booked, or if you want more options, hit up Michael Houston with Houston Guide Service, James Davis with Davis Guide Service, Cory Vinson with Guaranteed Guide Service, Randy Routh with Team Redneck Guide service. I wouldn't hesitate to go with any of them and I'm sure at least 1 of these guys will have some available days in Oct.
