Main lake flats next to deep water on both submerged timber and brush piles. Fishing 8-10’ down in 12’-17’ fow- catching them much shallower than I would have thought. The deeper I fish, the smaller they get- I wish I had more spots in 12-14’ depth range.

This was a brand new jig yesterday. Not much paint left…

The bite has been crazy aggressive the last couple of days. Don’t get me wrong, there’s still plenty of “cat and mouse” going on, but when they commit it’s with bad intentions.

For comparison:

Tryhard, what color of body do you find works best this time of year? Also, what size is your jig head? I have heard smaller jigs work better in the summer time but I can't get them to bite either better than the other.

big un's or lil' un's as long as I'm catching someting

I don’t think color matters much the way I fish during the summer. I usually move around quite a bit looking for the most active fish- the ones that don’t care what color it is. However, I do tend to fish chartreuse the most. The size depends on how windy it is. My preference is always a 1/8oz, but I’ll go up or down depending on conditions.
