Yes, at age 81, I bought my 6th kayak. While I still have a 17 ft tinny here in TN., I decided that there were some small ponds/lakes around that I'd like to fish. For well under $500, all-in, I can deflate; fold, and transport this 12 ft. yak anywhere. I added a far better seat and I still don't have much money in the deal. It takes less than five minutes to re-inflate it and launch. Having fun at my advanced age! Intex Excursion Pro-2. richg99

That's awesome. I find myself using my inflatable more and more. Just so much easier to just throw it in the vehicle with a paddle, take 2-3 rods, and minimal tackle +/- basic fish finder.

What kind of fish finder? Also has anyone tried glue-on rod holders?

Glue on Scotty mount pads (I got the bases that lock so the FF and swing arm wouldn’t spin) Garmin Striker 4 Basic Scotty swing arm for the transducer. Glue on (used Sta-bond) Scotty mounts for FF and swing arm/transducer

I prefer horizontal rod holders (less chance of breaking a rod tip in a tree or going under a short bridge) Converting vertical rod holders to horizontal 2” rubber T connections—found in pvc section HD 1.5 would be too narrow.....1.75 would be ideal, but ring clamps and gorilla tape solved the issue. The 2” diameter is nice for spinning rods Seat position adjustment. Paracord and zip ties Easy mods that make the kayak more comfortable and fishable for taller anglers ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-30144-79038-e3b1e447_dd10_4695_8deb_01e4cc13d438.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-30144-79039-b0afad33_9917_4b39_8ec7_79360c7f2326.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-30144-79040-15d3a0f1_dc24_4817_935c_194fc1a9d559.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-30144-79041-28f70502_8c64_4239_8350_e4fa58817194.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-30144-79043-88f5c8c8_401c_448e_9da3_359459e4b07a.jpeg)

Richg, the older I get, the lighter I like my boats. Pack boats can easily travel by Airline, and are light enough to be carried on Long hikes to remote Alpine Lakes- where fishing pressure is very low. Inflation goes pretty fast with my 3.5 oz battery powered pump, but if I have to load or unload anything (oars, poles, tackle box, lunch, drinks, etc.) it takes me a while longer to carry everything between the water and vehicle, without dragging the boat. https://www.greenbelly.co/pages/pack-raftsHope this helps.
