I have already posted this on a Grand Cherokee forum I am on but no one has replied. My front driver/passenger doors will not stay open. It's bad enough on a flat surface but on an incline, it is terrible. I do not see the traditional "door stops" jut the two hinges. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Yes, with our 2014 GC. We really loved that vehicle but it was a mechanical and electrical nightmare. We went back to a 4Runner.

Personally, I traded it in. I traded it in for a 4runner.

No, but I also had a 2014 GC and I also bought a 4runner. It was in the shop about every 6 months. The suspension was shot on mine at 40k miles. That was the final straw.

I have a 160,000,000 miles on my Grand Cherokee. I just found out that the "door stop" is in the lower hinge. The hinges are not that expensive, only about $65 each. They come unpainted, though. I was told that the entire door has to be taken off. An automotive body shop down the street said they replace these hinges all of the time. They want $400-500 dollars to replace them.

Thats funny. After 5 yrs of owning it, I sold it to Carmax. As I mentioned, my wife and I really enjoyed driving it but it was always in the shop and wasted a lot of funds on repairs.
1. 2014 = car died and left wife stranded, dealer had to re flash car due to radio draining the battery. Also, required a recall update. 2. 2015 = replaced fuel pump due to car over starting. Required another recall update. 3. 2017 = replaced front suspension due to worn parts. Not sure how this happened unless my wife is going offroad behind my back. I should of traded it in at this point because I never had this many problems with any of my vehicles but we really liked the vehicle and it's almost paid for. 4. 2019 = noticed cranked radiator while I was changing the oil. It gets worst, the oil cooler was also cranked and oil was in my radiator fluid, luckily the engine was not ruined.
I try to work on my own vehicles and trust only two shops that I know, so the dealer is the last resort. The car was towed to the dealer in 2015 because shop could not trouble shoot. Unfortunately, I did not purchase extended warranty but I never had to with Chevy and Toyota. Both shops mentioned that the transmission was next on the list.
AMC and Dodge put a bad taste in my mouth. I traded a 2002 4runner for the GC and still drive my 94 and 2005 chevy trucks and both have over 280K.
I'm glad your vehicle is going strong.

[/quote] When you own a vehicle, you unfortunately find out about all of the defects. When I first got the car, I took it immediately took to the Mopar dealer to see if the transmission shifter recall had been taken care of it. It hadn't. No problem, it's on MOPAR. About a year later, I started having problem with the car not starting. It would turn over and over but not start. After serious investigation, it turns out that MOPAR has had problems with the integral starter relay in the TPIM box. I called MOPAR. They said they do not have a recall for the TPIM on 2015 Jeeps. Oh boy. Got in touch with a company in California that sells a "rebuilt" TPIM that is supposed to solve the starting problem. Bought one for $200. It didn't solve the problem. I contacted this company to see if I could get a refund. They said no refund after 30 days. It had been 32 days. Jeez. I try to start the car only from remote now. It does not seem to have the starting problem when I start it with the key fob. Last year, I noticed oil underneath the car. I looked and looked but could not find where it was coming from. I took it to a local repair shop that I trust. They said that there was a crack in the oil filter manifold. It's made out of plastic. It happens all of the time. Oh boy. Used my extended warranty to fix this $1,000 repair. Jeez. It's always something.
