It's been a little tough this month. last three weeks it's been 25, 24, and today 29 keepers Got to cover lots of area, they are there, they are just small. The big ones are not grouped up. We're catching 50 to 60 fish, just lots of small ones. And it's humbling when you find em bunched up but they're not biting. Catching them on minnows on the crappie bomb and the Texas tooth pick in the timber from 16 to 24 FOW.

Yeah I caught 30 fish yesterday with 9 over 10”. Have been catching the bigger fish on a jig. Tandem setup with minnow on the bottom, jig on top.

![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/08/full-50986-107466-weld_rod_1.jpg) Texas Tooth Pick is a 12" long brazing welding rod with a snap ring and a swivel on one end, and a snap ring and a hook on the other. It keeps the fish from wrapping up in the timber. I love to fish cedar trees and without this you will get hung up, when you do get hung up, I use 65lb braid, so I just pull till you straighten the hook out to get your rig back, then bend the hook back in place.

Very interesting David! This is new to me, can you talk about how you fish it? Vertical jigging I imagine...

Yes both techniques vertical jigging in the trees, once we figure the depth there at, we just drop to that depth and slowly raise up, I use the crappie bomb in the larger limb trees with mono. When they are finicky they seem to bite it better than the Texas Tooth Pick. I'll fish it on 15lb mono, if I do get hung up the 15lb mono is strong enough to straighten out the aberdeen hook to get it back. I am amazed at how it does not get as hung as just a weight and hook. I have fished the last 3 weeks with it and never lost one yet.
