Been busy this month so haven't posted much but Doug was in town on vacation and wanted to get his grandson out on Palestine after some slabs. We started a little later than planned with some circuit breaker issues with the trolling motor but we finally got all that sorted out and got after some fish! They hung in there and put a solid mess of Crops as little man called em! He was a trooper and stuck it out the whole trip! We fished brush in 15-20' of water using hand tied jigs in purple and chart and shad color. If your looking for a great hand tied jig get with Chris of Slab Syndicate! We also were tipping them with fireballs or Slime Balls as they're known as now on my boat! 11' Jenko KR series rods had no problems swinging fish in the boat! I enjoyed fishing with ya'll! Headed to see Frank at Lakeside Lure and Tackle tomorrow and stock up on some stuff! I'm down a few reels and completely out of line! Also plan on getting with David at Shut up and Fish and finally getting my spare TM and maybe even switching my electronics batteries to lithium's. I have a couple Sundays available in August still if anybody wants to fight the heat! And the only day I have left in September is Sunday the 12th and would have to be on Pines! October and November are starting to book up and are 2 of my favorite months to fish! I will probably be on Fork early Oct until the first good cold front scatters those fish then I will likely move back over to Pines. Last November on Pines was great. Hopefully this year will be the same!

We had a great time, Todd ( Slewfoot ). If anyone is looking for a crappie guide on Palestine, Fork, etc he’s your guy. He was great with my grandson and very patient. It was a tough bite and a fairly slow day but we put some nice fish in the boat. Actually some of the biggest crappie I’ve ever caught. This was my first trip with Todd but definitely won’t be my last. My grandson asked me leaving the Marina if we could go again tomorrow. Thanks again Todd and we look forward to the next trip.

Todd is hands down the best guide I've ever fished with. He is the complete package. The wife and I are looking at our calendar to book another trip.
