Was at a derby recently and there were some guys sitting outside a convenience store by the ice machine. These looked like grizzled vets of the lake. Drank black coffee from their own cup they brought and sucked their cigarette smoke back through their thick yellowed mustaches up their noses. They were all dressed the same basically. Starched Long sleeve shirts and wranglers with white new balances and they just glared at you as you passed by. I heard someone refer to them as the “Ol hands”....... what exactly were they saying? What does that mean? Just that they’re hammers or does it mean something else? Thanks

Those are the ol hands you should be hounding to sign your jersey, they have done it all.

They used to run that convenience store, they're retired now and just hang out outside of it.
