I would like to find some local anglers near CS to primarily fish these local lakes. Looking to build on yearly patterns both on and offshore and meet new people.

Lakes of interest:
1. Conroe
2. Fayetteville/Bastrop
3. Somerville
4. Belton, Still House or Waco

I'm about to start fishing Conroe when this weather chills out and I can figure out how to not get these HOA people bugging me over a boat in the drive way. I lived pretty close to Bastrop in college and most people seemed to agree it was an easy lake for numbers, but not size. If it isn't super far from you, Decker is a gem. Clear water and some monster bass in there. I went in my kayak and caught 12 in a couple hours.

Just trying to catch em all.

Batrop is a numbers lake for sure, but it is about learning to find the fish. I prefer Fayette over the two because the quality is a bit better in my opinion.

I wanted to meet new people and focus on these lakes because they all are within 1hour 1/2 from CS. Waco/Still house are a little further out but I would like to start using them for deeper clearer lake. Either way I am going to be fishing them. Did some good on Conroe on monday, but I need to spend more time out there.

Iā€™m in Bryan. I fish Gibbons a lot. I have a place at Toledo so Iā€™m at Toledo and Rayburn the rest of the time. I do mix in some of the lakes you mentioned.

I will be joining 3F this next year. Thank you for this information though. My son was fishing with his granddad and now wants me to do it with him. I don't go into these things with the mindset of gotta win, I just want to be good at what I do. The offshore part is something I am trying to add. I don't have the electronics to compete with these guys though. I do have great down/side imaging and may consider 360 this spring. That said this is where I loose it, because I have watched people that can use SI and find fish offshore(not meaning deep) and catch schooling fish. I want to find people to maybe build a friendship, learn these points and add them to become better fisherman.

Again thank you for your information.

I have been lucky to carry on my relationships with some of my buddies from our local area that have went to the pro series. Here in Alabama you can just about get on any Coosa River lake and find one or two pro's fishing it. Most are super friendly and will take the time to talk and help you out...just do it at the dock, not while they are fishing please.
