Finally after hours of no strikes I found an area in 8' of water that produced excellent yellow perch, sunfish and a few bass.
The bass shown below had about a foot of monofilament coming from its mouth so I figured I'd get the other hook out after I unhooked my lure.
I couldn't see the hook but I noticed deep in the gullet a small piece of metal. I started pulling and out comes a swivel attached to a circle hook embedded in a 5" soft stick. The hook most likely was never stuck good in the fish's mouth, but it still broke the line.

Shots of the fish and both lures it was caught it on:

Lure (Claw) I caught the fish with:

At least it won't starve to death much less get further indigestion. wink

I caught one like that earlier this fall. I saw the line coming from its mouth, kept working it out and worm and hook all slid right out. I couldn’t believe the hook didn’t snag on anything as it came out. I guess it happens more than you think.

Once, I pulled 4 plastics from a bass' gullet, three stcks and one 10" worm. I then removed my stick.

Yep. Same thing here. Black and blue powerworm was on this one.

Can't that essentially starve the fish out since it takes so much time to process that through their system?

Catch and release

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

I'm going to say yes, but he was still trying to gulp it down. All were still sticking out of his gullet. Mine was hooked in the lip with half of the senko in its gullet.
I've pulled plastic out of their azz a few times.

I found a big rock in a Bass I caught on the Kiamichi River. I figured the bass was affected by mercury.

John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.
