From the perspective of being a 5 pounder you’re right it’s not sad. Most come out of the water looking like 8 pounders but provide no fight. Something is surly causing them to be deformed but I won’t speculate. A lot more heathy fish in the lake for sure.

It's much easier to just not weigh them and tell people what you thought it weighed.

Looks like a 5.5# to me. Regarding skinny, I am yet to see a selfie-style/ held-out pick that doesn't make a fish look skinny. The perspective usual has the lens closer to the head and looking down on the body. I wouldn't say that fish is fat, but it looks decently proportional in the 2nd pic with it laid out in the bottom of the yak.

It's much easier to just not weigh them and tell people what you thought it weighed. "I didn't have a scale with me but I am sure she was a DD" "The batteries were dead in my scale but I am sure she was 10+" "I left my scale at home but 28 years ago I caught a 10 and this fish was much bigger" "My scale was broken but a friend of mine caught one over 10 and this fish was much bigger" "I couldn't find my scale but I could put both fists in her mouth so she had to be DD"
