It's been a great Spring and early Summer on RC and now the business of fishing slows as we hit the Dog Days of Summer, School starting and other activities vie for the fishing time of most folks! Just a note to say THANKS to all our Customers and Friends who have once again kept us on the water during our 21st year of Guiding on RC! Spring was the normal easy limits of quality Whites and a few Hybrids almost every trip and Summer has been good on most days with a few days when we really had to work for a box of fish. The top water action was AWESOME in much of June & July and then slowed to some degree the past couple of weeks. Still, yesterday we never left the Main Lake & South Shoreline near Fisherman's Point where we had our 100 fish limit of Whites and a couple of Hybrids by 10AM. The great cloud cover and nice breeze had the fish on a good bite. Most days we're looking for early top water schooling and catching fish on the Mepps MAL Spinner on the Main Lake, & then moving up one of the Creeks to find our fish on Points & Humps in less than 15' FOW and catching them on the RSR Slab & Jig Combo. Adam and I now have some Weekday openings in August and a boat open most days in September including the Labor Day Weekend and other Saturdays. We fish everyday except Sunday, still offer the "Great Fishing Trip & Cabin Special" and always cater to Kiddos and Families. Check us out at www.gonefishin.biz and here's a few Pics from the last couple of weeks:

The White Heron (Harry) shows up everyday at fish cleaning time. We throw him a few rib cages. He is very territorial & chased other birds away!😊

We had boats on the Lake several days this past week and Adam battled the Winds early in the week and I wanted some breeze in the late week! We ended the week on Saturday with both boats with Parents and Kiddos and hammered the White Bass and a few Hybrids. I even sneaked in a Catfish trip on Friday and put a few nice Blues in the box for one of my Lake regulars. The Whites were on top near the Marina South Shoreline a couple of days and then on Saturday we moved up the Chambers Arm and fished Points & Humps in 15' FOW for our fish. Schoolies were caught on Mepps MAL Spinners and RSR Slabs accounted for our bottom feeding fish. Got Weekday openings remainder of August if anyone wants in on the action. Check us out at www.gonefishin.biz and have a great day!

Not much to report this week as the fishing slowed from two aspects. We had to cancel a trip due to weather and two trips due to Covid issues. And the fishing slowed dramatically as we had a Tuesday 50 fish limit but on Friday and Saturday we had to fish hard to get a few fish in the box. It's that time of year and RC can really make you humble in the late Summer. Check out the Roadbeds, Points and Humps in 20' FOW or less and you'll find fish, but they move fast. This past week there was little to no Top Water action. Hang in there or if it gets really tough, break out the Catfish Punch Bait and fill the ice chest with Blue and Channel Cats. That's what we do when the Whites go on strike! Here's a few Pics from this week: banana

Fishing (and catching) got a little tough in the late August timeframe as the Whites/Hybrids were really scattered and on the move. When you did locate a School and catch a few, they moved very quickly and sometimes you could move a boat length and find them again, and other times they were gone completely. This last week we found fish that were a bit more cooperative and in places we hadn't been catching them. Check out some of the Main Lake Points and Roadbeds in 20'-30' FOW and look for the larger Schools of suspended fish. On Friday, we were on a School in 30' FOW and they were all quality Whites with Hybrids mixed in! Most of our fish are being caught on the RSR Slab and Jig Combo with some of the suspended fish taken on the Mepps MAL Spinner. Adam and I have September & October Weekdays available and even a boat open on Saturday, October 2nd due to a cancel. Fall is not far off and we'll begin offering Catfish, White Bass or "Combo" Whites/Catfish trips. Time to fill the freezer! grin Here's some Pics from the past couple of weeks and as recent as yesterday. Enjoy!
