Most in Texas know how to operate a bass boat. Alabama and other areas are similar so this won’t be news to many. It is 9 minutes worth watching, the video was done by Boating Magazine and Bonnier Corporation. Randy Vance is the Bonnier Corporation, Editor at Large, especially over all outdoor publications. Randy has driven thousands of boats over the duration of his career, in all makes and sizes. He's never been able to master that touch of driving a bass boat. Back in 2020 he and Rick Pierce were doing video for a session when the topic came up that he had trouble over 60 MPH and couldn't breach 65 without a lot of slop. Eventually he addressed this with Bonnier and got a green light to do this training video as a how to. By the end of a day in the conference room and on Bull Shoals, Randy has this Eyra and Mercury Pro XS scootin'. He took time to relearn and you will see Rick almost on his shoulder, with the wheel in hand, a few times as he coaches him through it. By the end of the day Randy knocked out a 78.6 MPH top speed on GPS. The Video is informative and lets everyone know the forces and how to drive a top end bass boat. This is a 10 minute how to and Boating has hosted it on their web site. YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMXMbToRHFo&feature=youtu.beDaily Motion: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x83582jWe hope this helps some of you to understand what you may be struggling with. Thanks Ken, that phones always an open line. You wouldn’t know how to drive a slower boat anyway as we are a click under yours. Now that 450R and a Jaguar or a 300R Eyra combo are different stories. Very informative video Rick. Good job.
You never called me.

We are bringing this to the top for those who need it and haven’t seen it to learn from. That’s not usually a Tennessee, Alabama or Texas bass boat owner unless they are new to ownership. The largest bass boat numbers are in Texas and someone can use it.
We will plan a repost of the video later in a few, so don’t hammer us on the double posting. We just want bass boat drivers to understand the mechanics of how.

Great video. I would love to see Rick do a full chalk talk on the mechanics and forces acting on the boat. Geek engineer here, I found it fascinating!!
Thanks for sharing.
