Just recently got my girlfriend into fishing (mainly fishing off the bank for catfish/perch/anything that will bite). Wanting to take her on a guided trip for her birthday 2nd weekend of September. Not necessarily looking to catch a lunker (although that would be nice), mainly just trying to get thoughts on best lake for that time of year that would provide the best chance for catching a bunch of fish. Live bait would even be okay, doesn't have to be artificial lures.

Any recommendation/thoughts would be appreciated!

Sept is the toughest month for most species of fish in the south.

Take her on a catching trip, crappie or whites.

Contact Dannie Golden @ Get Bit Guide Service.

Most versatile guide in the area for different species and he can guide you on Possum Kingdon or Ray Robert’s.

Truly awesome guide and you will have a great time.

Crappie or white bass for sure. Maybe Cedar Creek or Fork for either.

James Biggs is a fantastic bass guide out of the DFW area if he's not booked that weekend. I'm sure he can put you on something fun somewhere.

Thanks for the input everyone! Do you guys know of any lake fork guides that do crappie AND bass guided trips? So for example would be willing to fish for bass part of the time and crappie part of the time on the same trip/day?

Lake Fork guide Gary Paris can hook you up with Crappie and Bass. For Catfish fun contact Stan Kuhn or Stubby's on Fork.

Johnny Guise is another guide on Fork that you would like for crappie, sand bass or largemouth bass. He guides for all of them. He has a bay boat and it is very comfortable to fish out of and he has a garmin live scope so you can see the fish you are catching.

Lots of good ones already mentioned. I would also recommend Johnny Guice at Fork. He has the live bait fishing down to a science and is also a very good teacher. You could tell him you want to target sandbass or crappie half the trip then largemouth the rest of the day. You guys would have a blast.
