Hope everyone is well. First I've researched a bit through searches on this forum, youtube etc. but not having much luck. So appreciate any tips.
I've taken my kids a few times fishing on Lake Lewisville but never caught anything. We mostly go in the afternoon on sunny days so might be bad timing. Twice we've been to the fishing barge, once to Pier 121 marina (couple different places off the piers) and once right off the south tip of the cut near Party Cove / Westlake Park. We tried a bunch of different things including worm lures for bass, crank baits, spinners and bobber with minnow. Not many bites. My kids don't care to catch a 5 pound fish, they just want something. Any recommendations for a sure-fire place to go (and what's the best time?), and what kind of rig/bait to use? Be great to catch a bass but happy with crappie or anything really, especially if it's bigger than we could find in a pond.
Thanks, 'Dubs

Great place I have taken the kids and have had really good luck with the kids is the old dam. I prefer very early morning before all the pleasure boaters get out, but late afternoon is fine too. I fish on the sand side. I typically take my cast net and catch shad. I throw out 1-2 lines for catfish. Then I will throw out 2 more lines with corn for the carp or buffs. If you are not familiar with this area, it is off Garza Lane at the end of the toll bridge.

Look up some sand bass techniques. Go to the place mentioned above, or nearly any long point on the lake. If the fish are there, you will catch some Maybe quite a few.
Woke up this morning Got yourself a gun....
