I have a Chiwennie by the name of Gracie Belle and she goes fishing with me a good bit. She will stand right at the edge and watch every cast and follow the lure if it’s possible to see it. When I catch a fish she start barking and running around waiting for me to land it. I will always let her sniff the bass and maybe throw a lick or two on it before I throw it back.
There is the Dogfish part.
I will head out fishing for fun and there is an old black gentleman by the name of Rufus Jones sitting under the bridge as I’m heading out. I yell over to him and ask him does he want any fish today. He will wave back and say, yes sir, you can bring me back a mess of fish.
When I come back in after a few hours of fishing there he is still sitting on a 5 gallon bucket with a few lines on a bobber. I will troll over there and hand over what I have kept for him. Mainly bass, but a few catfish, stripes, crappie at times. He grabs them and puts them in another 5 gallon bucket and tells me to come by his house and he will cook some of them up for me.
From Rufus Jones comes the Jones part.
So there is the Dogfish_Jones meaning.
