I am looking to bass fish Lake Conroe tomorrow. I was curious if anybody had any ideas on how stumpy the north part of the lake is. When going into some of the channels do you need to be cautious after leaving main lake? I know this lake is not Lake Fork but I just don’t want anything damaged. Lakemaster shows a lot of brown dots and I’m not sure if there any boat lanes. For example I’m using Scott’s Ridge boat ramp I’m not sure if you can leave wide open without getting to main leak first.

Can be a tough lake to run with lots of flooded timber up north. No boat lane markers either. If you stay south of the ramp you're using its mostly wide open just swing wide around points. Have fun and good luck!

Stay tight to the south shoreline running from Scott’s ridge to the main lake and you’re good to go. Lots of timber in the middle and north shoreline of caney.

Good luck. Look out for the wake boats and ski-fleas.

In the timber areas of the lake there are people running through the timber just trying to knock the lower unit off the boat. Over time it’s been harder to see where the timber is as it’s broken off below the water line.

Robert Baney map gives you a idea. Not that hard to run north up to the second jungle but I would ride with someone who knows the lake first or have a chip.

You are better off going south from Caney.

Thank you for all of the information. I do have a lake master chip and it was dang accurate to the timber lines. I did almost become one of those idiots coming into perch creek. But I shut it down just in time. Now the ski boat next to Scott's ridge didn't make it so well.

Fishing was tough for me, I did however find some massive perch beds with some very good perch. Just not many bass hold up near them.

I don't think I've ever seen a lake where the points are as shallow and extend as far out into the lake.

I totally agree with you, you BETTER follow your charts and in my chase I am thankful for the Lake Master Charts! But I will say that I ran in the red area on the map above but LM showed the trees to the left, I guess I was lucky I didn't hit anything. I will be fishing this lake more, just sucks with all of the ski boats.
