Hello, was looking for any tips you guys are willing to give with targeting offshore fish. Ive scanned and found quite a few spots that are holding fish, but can’t seem to get them to bite. Any tips i mean ANY tips you guys have im open ears to them! How do you go about choosing when to hit a certain spot? How do you choose casting angles etc. thanks in advance!

I sit deep & throw shallow. I drag & drop slack in my line with a drop shot.

James, do you weedless rig your drop shot worms? Also, still looking at an October trip if you have dates yet.

Through the power of the internet, I’ve taught myself how to fish offshore. First is finding fish, which it sounds like you’ve done. 2nd, what are they? If they’re positioned horizontally they’re usually bass and if they’re positioned vertically over cover, they’re probably crappie. Next, fish positioned closer to the bottom are more apt to bite as opposed to fish suspended off bottom. Fish positioned on bottom are feeding up on baitfish. If they’re suspended, you can get them to bite but they aren’t usually actively feeding. I’ve read that recognizing these patterns will allow you to pull up on a school and either fish them or not waste your time and move on to another school

If you want to know what's down there drop a jigging spoon in them. Usually I will throw my for sure bass stuff at them before I move right on top of them. Crank, swimbait, worm, then I will downsize to a shake head. All that as I work slowly up to the fish. Once I'm on top basically I throw a drop shot and then when I see them on the graph and I still haven't caught anything I drop the spoon. Usually if I don't catch anything until I drop the spoon it's drum. A bass will eat if you put a bait in front of it

Fish painstaking slow, crappie king.
Now that’s a toad! I say 7lbs 2oz. Good fish, James.
