I haven't been fishing in quite a few months (life getting in the way Lol). The wife and I made a trip to Galveston a few weeks ago and caught nothing but blue crab and hard heads fishing in the surf and bay (Blue Crab actually put up a decent fight making you think your pulling in a lunker but they sure are tasty!) Anyways, it ignited the fishing flame and as soon the rain slowed down I made a trip down to the lampasas River early this morning.

The rain was on and off so I didn't get many pictures. But the water level is way up and pretty clear. I brought a can of corn and worms and fished those off the bottom and managed 4 carp and 6 eater sized channel cats, banded water snake and a sheep's head. As soon as the sun came up to where it was shining directly on the water the bottom bite shut off and the turtles woke up and the bass were going wild so I switched to artificial lures and managed 2 dink Large Mouth and a decent sized large mouth that threw the hook as I was reaching down to pick it up. All in all a productive day and great scenery. All fish released to fight another day.

Nice report and pics! I've never fished this body of water but looks like a nice spot.
