I don't know about anyone else, but Lake Worth to me seems to have experienced a major decline in fish population. Or a major effect from fishing pressure, or maybe a combination of the both. It used to be my 'numbers' lake.. where I went to catch a lot of bass, 15 to 20.. with a big one or two in the mix. Now I struggle to catch a couple small ones. I have pitched and flipped the north end, shallow fished the docks, and deep fished brush piles and 'ledges' to no avail...Week after week at the Wednesday night tournaments a good number of boats come in with no fish, and the ones that do come in with fish, hardly anyone comes in with a limit... these are some great fisherman that know that lake...

I just can't understand it, anyone else experiencing the same thing?

BOOOO ON YOU!

I think the lakes see so much pressure it's time we start changing our strategy.

Change it too? Do you think they are not managed well from a fishery perspective?

I don't know anything about Lake Worth, but we have too much pressure on most of our lakes. Fishing has become one of the cool things to do, plus Covid apparently made everyone decide to get a boat and go out on the water.

How long has this been going on? My favorite "numbers" lake is always down in numbers in the Summer.

I drive over it every day and I see alot more boats on it now than ever before. That little patch of reeds south of 820 gets pounded every morning

Never been a numbers lake for me, other than a few freak 50 fish days in the fall. 2 of the last 3 weekend days I fished were awesome, flat smashed em but only had 7-10 fish in 1/2 day trips. Best 5 on my last 3 trips were 19.5 lbs, 11 lbs, 26 lbs. media is out there this Saturday, there will be some impressive bags put on the scales IMO.
Overall tournament pressure is down this year on worth but you have media and KOC coming up so for the next few weeks she’s going to get beat up pretty good.

Every time I’ve driven over that bridge, I’ve thought I’d love to fish that patch of weeds. Then I remember anyone who’s ever bass fished and seen that patch has probably said the same thing.

I think you are correct, they need to be on the restocking list for a few years.
