This is probably a dumb question, but here it goes. Does anyone know if it is possible to rig up a torqeedo or NV throttle control to a minn kota endura and it working? Thanks.

Never seen it done before. It might be possible but I'm sure you would end up spending more than you can buy something else for. Here's one that has that type of throttle control but it's a 24 volt motor and battery doesn't come with it. A good 24 volt lithium battery is around $600.

You get out of it what you put into it!

EZ peazy barebonez, go to amazon and get a PWM (pulse wave modulator). A #30 TM needs one rated for at least 40 amps (12 volt DC output) a #40 needs a 60 amp one. Youtube has several vids on converting to a PWM. You can dial your speed as low as 1 rpm up to WOT (wide open throttle). I've been doing "motoyaks" for several years now and they are the shiznitz! The PWM is 20-$50 bux too banana

I believe the Minn Kota Motors are the more traditional type, compared to torqeedo at least some of which appear be 3-phase OutRunner brushless type. Don't know if there's a way around the compatibility issue. My understanding is PMW current ratings should be much higher (5 X ?) than rated current, around maximum current draw which would be instantaneous stall current for a particular motor. I've burned out a couple of homemade PMW Arrangements because a fuse or circuit breaker could not react fast enough. It can happen when the trolling motor prop gets momentarily tangled in Weeds or harder to remove fishing line, which caused a stall. But that was a few years ago, maybe some PMW have good overload protection nowadays.

Ps: Saltwater atmosphere and moisture can cause corrosion in unsealed Electronics. Best to get something that is marine-grade, encased or coated in protective resins. A repairman told me that the greatest percentage of trolling motor repairs involve Electronics failure, not sure about more recently, ask a repair person?
