Not possible in hotel business this week did a 16 hour day and 4 12 hour days, then still have to spend hours over the weekend on reports, forecasts, budgets, and the usual housekeeping call off's on Saturday and Sunday. Parent don't let your babies grow up to be hotel managers.

I'm stuck with 5 twelve hour days plus staying on call for 24 hours at a time.
Every 4th week I work 12 straight days with 72 hours of being on call which ends up being about 14 hour days.
Some days I work 20 hours, sleep for 4, and get back at it asap.
Basically what I am trying to say is, my hours suck. What in the world do you do for a living? That's insane.

United Health group has implemented a new schedule for their IT teams. Fully remote, no standard work schedule. As long as your commitments are being met, they don't care where you are or when you work. Wave of the future.

I believe in the “just get your stuff done and answer calls/emails and we don’t care” attitude for some careers (like sales). If I had to be in an office, I’d prefer the 4/10 with Friday off. Flex scheduling can take many forms, and I think should be offered over the traditional 9 to 5, five days a week model.

Used to work 4 days on 4 days off, 12hrs shifts. We run 24/7 so for a few years night shift sucked but day shift was nice. Moved into a M-F role last year and hate it. While I dont miss 12 hours days I darn sure miss 4 days off every week.

I worked a 3 - 12 's one week and 4 - 12's the next. This covered staffing well as there were just 2 day crews and 2 night crews. When one crew worked the 3 day/week the other was doing their 4 day/week. 84 hours every 2 weeks with 8 hours at time and a half.
I worked this for 28 of my last 30 years. The other 2 years I was on a 3 - 12 week every week.
My schedule now is much better. Off 7 and then off another 7 and then start that schedule over.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Hope enter a pipeline role soon. As far has today has gone so far, I worked 4.85 hours. Still on call for another 27 hours and 15 minutes then off call for 24 while I work 12 hours then back on call for 24....while I work 12 hours.

I stand opposed to the four day work week.
As it is, I tend to stay off the lake Saturday and Sunday. Let the working man fish.
That leaves me five days from which to pick….I like it this way.

On a 9/80 schedule. Work nine hours a day. One Friday 8 hours and the next one off. It’s pretty sweet. Did that forever. Four, ten hours days would have been Better.

I’m a salaried guy here… whatever hours it takes to get the job done. That might sound bad at first but there are times that I can get it all done in 4 hours. Winter time, well that tends to vary as to the weather. Summertime, I might not even go into work and just answer my emails off the phone while sitting on the lake fishing. But our hours are M-F , 8 hours. After that I’m good except for some emergency stuff, but 90% of that is handled before it get to me.

I have worked 12 hr shifts, which were 4 on 4 off, 3 on, 4 off, 4 on 3 off, alternating nights and days. Then 8-hour shifts that went. 7 days,(Starting on Tuesday and ending the following Monday, with two days off. Started mid shift on Thursday and worked 7 mid shift's ending on Wednesday, off Thursday and started the night shift on Friday and ended the following Friday morning, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday off. and started the vicious cycle again.
Then switched to day's only and started travelling and sometimes working 80-100 hour weeks( 40-60 hours OT), then went to 9/80. Which turned into 10 hr days and having every Friday off. Now, I work mainly 40 hour weeks. Hoping to retire next year and work in a different field whether it be part-time or full time. I may even go back as a contractor working whatever hours I want.

I have worked the Dupont schedule, the 7 on and 7 off 4 on 4 off, and 8 on and 6 off 10 hr days. I liked them all better than the 40 hr week I work now.
