Heading to Palestine tomorrow to fish with a buddy on his boat. He is new to Catfishing and does not have the electronics I have on mine. Anyone fish out there lately that can give me any idea on where to start? Not asking for honey holes, just some tips for some areas. I am on the navionics website now trying to find some humps and points close to where we are putting in.

I'd fish the timber in the north end, close to Chandler. Always fish there.

Depends on if you’re looking for blues or channels. I would think blues will be mostly on the main lake following the shad. Channels can be anywhere but in the brush on the N end would be a good place to start. If you bait a couple places with range cubes, channels will be on them pretty quick, but you’ll have lots of dinks to contend with. Good luck !

We tried multiple areas and only ended up with 4 channels total. He caught all four, and none for me. I guess I need to learn how to fish in East Texas lakes.

thanks for the info though.
