I am the still proud owner of this Triton. It is a nice clean boat, but there has been a lot of issues that I had to address. In my opinion it was misrepresented. The pix as well as the boat look good. So you be hard pressed to think otherwise.
The ride back home, blew the only new tire out on the trailer Goodyear Marathon...That was the start of the on going issues. Noticed that while changing to the spare tire, he had grossly over greased wheel bears and it was making one more big mess.

Once home 5 new 8 ply radials and all new Timken bearings and seals. Spent the better part of two days cleaning the backside of the wheels as much of this was cooked on to the point had to go to large quantities of gas and a putty knife and SS wire brush to clean.

Then the normal stuff, waterpump and gear lube, also pulled Engine prop as well as the trolling motor prop to check and/or address any fishing line. Normal stuff here. Cool cool

This boat was rigged out with everything from its heyday, pump out, Triton limited built in charger, hydraulic seastar steering. All these not at all without issues. Steering had so much slack in it, was in my opinion not safe on the water. One of the recirculation pumps and both pump out pump units wired in backwards.

Jury still out on the charger as all three batteries are in the process being replaced. The boat at some point had a trolling motor battery explode and was never cleaned up well at all. So I have sanded all affected fiberglass mat out and down to clean glass and in process of bedding this all in. I saw all this and planned to replace all batteries anyway, but was another mess.

Tilt and trim unit had been topped off with what I figure to be was Non compatible atf, as I heard all the air rumblings in the trim unit, no biggie, full of pink looking vomit, just change all that, just one more item to the list smile You just have to laugh about all this really. The rig is 21 years old. I didn't pay 60k for this rig or for newer boat.

Over the years charging old style batteries that have vents, you sure want to make sure your rigging compartment door stays open, so as to allow the corrosive gasses out. This can take a toll on things.

Automatic bilge pump to still replace as well, I saw while there for a look see he had stuck a 25 Amp Fuze in the circuit, which is not a smooth idea, even in a bind smile Not sure what I will get into on all this yet, but I still love this boat, as while I worked for the engine manufacturer of the Johnson and Evinrude's, I have been to all the bassboat builders and know all of them including the Triton boats inside out. I really like these boats and just love this Triton...

If I had been close to this rig and not have driven 5 hrs for a look/see, I would have passed. It was misrepresented in my opinion. Have only had it on the water twice and not since new waterpump. I also had to replace the broken 21 year old plastic water intake screens. I hope the motor runs out good from here on. The lack of good water pressure limited me to driving much at all.

The gesture of all this, even though a boat and engine can be as clean as new, maybe only that. You make sure your willing to take on whatever comes up...

I wanted to post on this advertisement for sale of this rig, as it does look perfect in every way, and so as to show it off again on the forum. I look forward to getting all the bugs worked out and start fishing from her.

May all you guys have tight lines!!!
