I have a 2002 150hp saltwater series Yamaha ox66 motor. It has 130 hours. The boat sat for about three years. I got it out last week and the fuel tank was empty. Gauge read zero and couldn’t get the bulb to pressure up. I added 25 gallons of fuel and a can of seafoam. The boat started up fairly easily. Thought all was ok and went to the lake.

The motor would stumble at about half throttle and die. We idled trolling for fish and it would idle 5-10 minutes and then die. Would start right back up. We ran the motor probably three hours thinking maybe it would get better but it didn’t.

Any ideas what to check?every shop I have called is 5-6 weeks out

I would start with replacing all fuel filters (VST, strainer etc.) and would replace the low-pressure fuel pumps if there are original. http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=421017

Go ahead and drain that fuel tank. Replace all the fuel lines and filters. If its carbureted clean the carbs. Dont try to run it until you have a fuel job done on it.

For sure a fuel restriction. Start with filters!
