For those fishing Lake Amistad, there are reports of multiple incidents that occurred yesterday on the Mexico side of the lake. No injuries but they were reported to local authorities. I do not have personal knowledge of what happened but have confirmed through law enforcement that something did happen. I would encourage everyone to be vigilant and keep your head on a swivel if fishing the Mexico side of the lake.

So this is report that "something" happened, but you do not have relevant information what that "something" was that happened?
Clear as mud!

I was one of the boats involved in the incident. An individual driving a white panga boat hit us at marker 9 doing about 20mph. Took out my motor and came back yelling for us to leave. All authorities have been notified and reports made. This is very sad that it has come down to this, this is my favorite lake and I’m there once or twice a month. Park ranger and game warden towed us in, but there was not a single boarder patrol boat on the lake Sunday.

Last few times I've been on the lake I didn't see the BP truck at the ramp, wonder if they've been diverted to go help with all the crossers at the Vega.

Not diverted at all. TWO different stations cover the Lake. Comstock covers upriver not Del Rio. Del Rio Sector covers main lake. Del Rio Station covers the river (i.e. the dam south). If not on the water surveillance you necessarily will see. I was one of the boats involved in the incident. An individual driving a white panga boat hit us at marker 9 doing about 20mph. Here is what happened, sent to me from a friend. His sister has a house down there and things are getting bad, and you don't have to go to the Mexico side find trouble. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2021/07/full-89245-103238-fullsizeoutput_1a67.jpeg)

I am sure they have the Lake BP agents off the water processing illegals. My brother is an Agent in Comstock sector and has only been out in field once in the last several weeks. The majority of time he is at the process centers.

Not good!! Interesting to know if it's more than one boat/person doing this. Hopefully it's just one lone idiot who wants to get shot. Not sure what the writer of above post means by "I'm afraid all the DPS action on the highway has pushed them to the water" Who is "them" and how could highway action push them to the water ??

The majority of time he is at the process centers. Specialty Units are out in the field. They could be working a different shifts. But not everyone is processing. Everyone knows there isn't any to say of a task force on the Mx side to patrol. This is just a matter of time it would happen. It's been years..A friend of mine's 2013 Skeeter was stolen out of a boat stall a few years back. The boat was recovered in Mx and was going to be used for smuggling during a big tournament soon after stolen. Boat was painted, engine swapped out. Accessories removed. Mx officials recovered it 6 mths after. It wasn't the cartels just some random thugs. Could carry a throw away on the water and dump it if needed (just saying)

The battle for territory has intensified between the Cartels and will only get worse. They do not give a rat's tail who you are, if they think you are a threat you will be removed. Cartels are also, taking over the avocado farmers, it's all about money and territory.
