What this really boils down to is this. Wake Board boats are here to stay, Wakes will do there damage to shore lines, docks, and everything else the bounces off the three plus foot roller. Not a thing will be done we (fishermen) will launch and go about our day cussing every one them as they go by. I mean, what are you going to do?

I think a lot more people are cussing than just fishermen.

Dock owners should get together and do something.

I've seen a ton of damage from them on cedar creek, there are undeveloped banks where full sized elm trees have been eroded out and fallen over.

Fact is that not only bass fishermen but any land owner and dock owner should be after the wake boats .Problem is that the dock owners and others of coarse are the ones doing the damage.

A post about two tragic deaths turned into conjecture(“I heard”) about wakeboards being the cause and then to just about wakeboards. 125 posts, 7,000 views and growing? Amazing.

I sure hope those that fish only out of canoes and kayaks don't get to be the ones that make the laws on how big of a wake is too big. Or.....is it just the bass fisherman that truly know how big of a wake should be allowed on any given lake.

I'm not for outlawing wake boats, but I do expect them to have to follow the same laws that I do. Thankfully I don't have to deal with the Metromess lakes very often. I feel for you guys that do. Was on Lewisville a few weeks back and I would just quit fishing if that was my only option. Speaking for the lakes I do fish like Cedar Creek and Palestine, I can guarantee you that if the Game Wardens would put a presence on the water and focus strictly on safety checks they would take most of the problem drivers off the water. I know a few of the guys on Palestine that always cause problems. Their boats never have enough life jackets, driver never has a kill switch on, and most of the time the driver would be above the legal alcohol limit if checked. Problem is the game wardens around here never check those guys. They will check every fisherman on the lake and never do a safety check on those guys. I respect the work our game wardens do, but this is one aspect of their work I have never understood.

So if we are against wake board boats are we also against 36-48 ft boats with trips and quads on the back, they also leave a good wake and I'm seeing those on the lakes now.

If a wake of a certain size does damage, does alot of smaller wakes also do the same damage. What's the math?

I feel like I spent 12 rounds in the ring while on Eagle Mountain Saturday.

I see your point but it's different, I watch out for those when running , there are far fewer of those than there are wake boats and when you do encounter one they don't pass you at 50 yards or less while you are trying to fish otherwise calm water.

Man Texas used to be a great place to enjoy the outdoors, now it's overcrowded and downright dangerous.

Sure is dangerous, saw where on Texhoma 3 fishermen lost control of there boat and killed 2 of them, of course they didn't have life jackets on, steering malfunction! You would think since it's so dangerous people would where life jackets!

You have a good point, I do not want to see any boats banned, they have as much right to the water as the rest of us, have to slow way down on the larger lakes, just part of it.
