Lots of crappie in every lake in DFW. Some more than others. There is so much that comes to crappie fishing this time of year. My latest videos on my youtube channel are basically what is doing well at the moment. Lavon is great and there are lots of trees to fish from a yak.

All Texas lakes have snakes of some kind. Spring time there are worst.

Welcome to Texas, thanks for your service,
Hit me up when ya get here and I will run ya around Lavon for sure.
A quick view from a boat will show ya multiple spots to hit in the yak
My oldest son is a die hard crappie guy and spends most of his time on Lavon.

Lake Lavon has some giants. I'd fish there every trip if I lived closer.

Thanks for your service. Welcome to Texas! I also fish out of a PA14. You’ve already been given lots of good info. I live near Lewisville Lake and it’s better to fish it on weekdays because it’s a major recreational lake and the boat wakes get to be a bit much. There is also a group on FB called DFW Kayak Fishing. It is run by a fellow that works at Mariner Sails which is a local Hobie dealer in north Dallas.

Best wishes for a safe move.

Fishin' to stock Lake Crisco.
