All my pepper plants have taken off and are producing more than I can keep up with at the moment.. Except my 2 ghost pepper plants. The plants themselves look great, but haven't started budding out and have zero fruit. Thought my habanero's were doing the same till i looked underneath the canopy and have about 20 golf ball sized fruits on each one, Just haven't started ripening yet.

This was my first year on the Ghost's so is it something with the plant or are they just late summer producers?

I find that to be very common with super hot peppers. They just shut down in the heat. When the night time temps start to drop they will start producing. My Scorpion did the same thing last year and in the fall it produced very well. Couple things you can do it keep a gallon sprayer mixed with a a tablespoon of epsom salt and spray the plants down every 2-3 weeks. Epsom is magnesium and sulfur. The mag encourages flower production. Both peppers tomatoes love it. Keep them fertilized and water and just give it some time to cool off and it should come around.

^^^^agree , but I'm not sure if it's the temps or the shorter daylight hours . Seems like the hotter peppers start growing well when it heats up but don't start producing until after the summer solstice . I'll start harvesting jalapenos , tabasco , etc before June but I've never picked a hab or ghost earlier than mid August .

OK these Ghost Peppers have grown and grown. Beautiful looking plants that are 4' tall and 3' around with hundreds of blooms. NOT a single fruit yet. I can't pick the japs and habaneros quick enough. Even the banana peppers are going stupid.

Had that problem up here for quite a bit.
It was too hot, we got a nice cool front in July, down to 70's for a couple of weeks and the blooms set and fruiting started.
I have shaded my ghosts now and have some 3 inch peppers on them, never had any that big before. Right now I have about 15 peppers and some new ones forming.

I strung up a tan cotton sheet over my tomatoes, raised bed, and my ghost pepper in a pot. All are doing really well. Think about something like the Godfather had over his in that death scene. Burlap would work too.
Keep the shade high enough above the plants for air circulation.

I buy shade cloths from Home Depot, and hang them up over the months of July and August typically. It blocks 40% of the light, so still 60% is still able to get through. They sell them in all different percentages and foot lengths. The only downfall is it blocks out a lot of the rain, whenever we happen to get rain during those two months. It prevents the plants from wilting in the heat of the day, and I don't have to water quite as much.
