"is" a lot? Is the primary language something other than English? There are cases the word "lot" can be treated as singular, but this isn't one.

Not sure if you guys are aware or not, but the guy who led the Germans during WWII was named Adolf. Apparently not a very nice chap. Personally I would avoid this name. If you are looking for a strong German name, maybe Heinrich?
