A friend of mine asked me to fish a small club tournament with him on Cedar Creek and I plan to prefish it a couple of times before the event. However, my knowledge of Cedar Creek is pretty much zero since I always drive past it going to somewhere else. Lol It has probably been ten or more years since I actually fished it. Aside from flipping boat docks and hitting points, I am pretty much at a loss on what else to do or even what baits to throw. If there is anything advice that you could share it would be greatly appreciated. I have poured over a navigation map with great contour features the last couple of day and have some things that I will take a look at. It is probably not the best choice for me to try and fish it this weekend with the 4th holiday coming up but I gotta go when I can. Once again, any advice would be greatly appreciated. You all stay safe this weekend if your fishing and catch at bunch. Tight lines.

Just go graphing, there are over 1000 man made brush piles on that lake, find the ones on points next to deep water.

Wow !!!! I had no idea !!! That is my first plan, to wear myself out idling around. Gonna kinda use the contour map as a guide line to do that. Thank you.

Here’s a major tip....don’t fish Cedar Creek on 4th of July weekend. Maybe the worst lake in north Texas to fish during summer, especially holiday weekends. Wake boarding boats, jet skis, and retaining walls are a bad combo.

Otherwise, yea, brushpiles. Side scan deeper docks for brush and mark them on your gps, some are worth hitting multiple times during a tournament.

Be safe out there.

I was hoping to fish it Saturday and Monday, may have to reconsider and just go fish it blind on the 10th because those are my only days that I can fish. Guess I will just go to fork.

No kidding. I fished an “iron man” out there last year on the 4th. The term “speeder creek” is right! Them wound up drunks didn’t stop blasting around on wake boats and pontoons till 4 in the morning. Hahaha

Our “club” is fishing there Friday night. 7:30-1:30. I simply said no.

Biggest waves I have ever been caught in on a bass boat was on Cedar Creek on July 4th weekend. It was perfect out and not a drop of wind. Crazy crazy with wakeboarders. Otherwise, I fish at night. Otherwise, do what they said above. Hit the points and find some brush. The dam isn't a bad place either.

I didn't go to Speeder Creek over the forth holiday, just going to go and fish it blind and rely on memory from when I fished it a dozen or more years ago.

at least you can get out on some at 5am and fish 4-5hrs... Walked my dog last weekend (live at the harbor in rockwall) at 7:30am they had 5-6 wake boats flying around already flame
