Am planning on going to Richland Chambers in the morning, was wondering if anyone has been out on the lake and if so do you have any fishing reports? Thanks for any information hope to see you out on the lake I will be in a silver Xpress boat. Again thanks

We were down there the 16,17,18th and they were schooling heavily along the east end of the 309 flats. Huge schools, we caught almost (well over 350 for 2 of us) all of ours on a prop top water and 4-6 diving bandit white crank bait. Hybrids were good off of windsock point and pelican island. Like I said, this was a couple weeks agai but hopefully it will get you on some fish! Good luck.

Went yesterday did not find any fish on the 309 flats went over to the wind sock saw some come up for a minute or so then they went back down saw this in several locations. You had to be at the right place, right time, and use the right bait. Last resort was trolling by Fergusion point graph showed all kinds of fish but very few would bite. Did manage to catch two good sized hybrids (23 and 21 inches) and 11 sand bass. We headed back to the 309 boat launch some more sand bass hit the top but they only stayed up for a minute as well. Tried trolling there no takers. I really thought that with the front coming in we would do better have in the past but not this time.

Use a Mepps #4. They should bite that. Look up Dennis Christian’s method, I was a regular on RC for 3 years and they couldn’t resist the Mepps #4 or my homemade clone.

I went Sunday mid day and Monday morning this past weekend. Caught lots of yellow bass at Pelican Island and nothing else. went to 309 Sunday and only one 15" sandie on a Mepps MAL lure and a few yellow on a slab. Marked lots of fish just no takers. Monday morning was good out by the dam they were schooling and MAL and sassy shad worked on them real good. Chased the schools but had to leave at 10. Only one Hybrid and it was 16". First time out there in 10 years so that was nice.

If you see the fish boil on the surface for a minute and flee and pop up and then flee, no need to chase them, those are the undersized baby "schoolie" sandbass. Nothing of any legal size in those schools.
