Got a late start today thinking the wind and clouds would have the bite going strong and long but I was wrong. First throw of the cast net hit the Buffalo and threads. Second throw hit the Bluecat nursery. 👎 Next throw hit a Boulder and popped my braille lines. Moved areas and broke out a back up net. Next throw hit half the species in the lake but also another rock. Popped another Braille line on net #2 but brought in a drum, a hybrid, 6 gizzards, 3 catfish, and another Buffalo.

Headed to the humps at 9:30 and they were loaded. First drift zero fish. Not good since I was supposed to catch everybody’s lunch today. Moved to another hump and it was loaded with fish too. Thank goodness this group was biting and we kept 6 eaters and turned loose 3 super dinks and ultimately saved the day. This was our worst trip all year by a long shot but we managed to have a good time in spite of the poor fishing. Jax also got spined pretty good in the leg but didn’t shed a single tear which was probably the best part of the trip! We’ll lick our wounds and be back after em soon.

I was bass fishing last Sunday seeing what I thought where clouds of shad but turned out to be tiny catfish, jillions of 'em. Those things would be a cluster in a cast net. Even a rough morning for you is better than most everyone else's best day! Thanks for taking us along on y'all's adventure.

Well at least you boated enough to feed your crew. That's sure better than we did. Tough day out there. we literally spent 6 hours soaking baits in 6 different locations all where we marked fish. Some drifting some anchored. all we got was a couple of Gar takedowns. zero hook ups. Thinking back on it, I know I'm blessed becuase Wy and I have not had a day like that since I can't remember.
