The park closes at 8 is what makes me mad. Lady told me other day we had to be out by then due to park closing. ThT completely ruins the evening bite right before dark. How the heck can they keep people from exiting legally. Has to be a way out for emergencies
And they now allow fishing from the courtesy docks. When I launched there were six people fishing from the docks.
Look at number 5.
Yeah rule 5 seems to be in direct conflict with the TPWD rule about not cleaning fish on the water. Is it poorly worded and they mean "throw the carcasses back into the lake." That's about the only thing I can think of.

I think they are tired of the tilapia being gutted and gilled at the ramp and the guts and gills being thrown in the dumpsters.

Curious what happens if you don't make it out by 8pm. I am assuming there is some way to exit ??? Perhaps you wait until the next morning to pay an overnight/camping fee???

From what I understand, the gate is locked at 8 pm. I guess you would have to go find a nice friendly camper that would let you out or spend the night in your truck and possibly face a trespassing charge.

If you are camping, you can stay on the lake all night if you want. As far as emergencies, the campers are given a combination to open the gate.
Yeah that's some bull there but hey their park their rules. Time to look into park Prarie I guess. We never fish mornings on Fayette. Always from lunch till dark. I'm not leaving my house at 3 to make that 3 hour drive to be there at daylight.

Does Park Prairie have the same rules? I never launch there, but I believe the same contractor operates both parks.

When the new management took over the manger on duty told me they were going to make entrance changes. He said that there were groups of people coming in at night, not paying the fees and basically trashing the ramp/picnic areas with fish guts etc. Most of the issues were occurring after dark. So they are trying to get a handle on it. It’s too bad it limits the evening fishing but what other reasonable or practical options could they put in place.
Just a sign of the times. Those that most likely trashed the place came here to get away from the trash but are doing nothing but bringing it with them.

It would be nice if they (i.e., the park) could enforce the bag/limit/cleaning rules at the ramps, and use the fines for park operations/improvement. They would improve cash flow, improve fishing, and slowly discourage bs. I know it is not realistic, but that may be the only way to have a constant enforcement eye around.
