I am a big fan of the Big Gabot. I admit I am biased probably because we worked on it for a couple years or so before rit was released. It was built around a great 6/0 hook and has a catamaran mouth. It can pop but it walks extremely well. Always lands on belly on a cast and great hookup ratio.

Mark some of the reviews I have read question the durability . Has that been resolved?

A frog that compresses easily to allow bass to be hooked more efficiently and effectively won’t be the most durable.
One could easily build an extremely durable frog with a terrible hook up ratio.
Maybe something like a Kevlar or carbon fiber solution is possible, but then you are looking at $30 per frog.

I personally have not had any durability issues. We sell a ton of them and very few issues are reported. Just here locally I know I have reordered many, many times for dealers here and have yet to get a report of any not being durable. Even the early prototypes were extremely durable. I realize everyone has different opinions and experiences using products but I have yet to see or hear anything firsthand customers or dealers.

Some colors are rigid than other colors of same brand. Black is a good example. The material gets a tad hotter since it holds heat better and it can in a sense temper the frog. Glossy finishes can result in a more rigid material as well. When we were testing the Big Gabot I learned a ton about manufacturing processes .

I hope you enjoy the Big Gabots and catch a bunch on them. The Jungle Bone and Kaeru Shad colors are pretty sentimental to me.... grin

The Spro popping frog is my go to. Needs a couple tweaks. But it works!
