I bass fished it a few times with no luck. There are carp and catfish in there but I didn't try and catch any. You are better off trying to locate one of the ponds on the community map. PM me if you want a couple of places around Lewisville/Carrollton.

really so strange I have gone to the park many times and have caught bass, carp, crappie, blue gills, catfish, and gar, and a drum once. The pond are always a great place for me but I'm always down to try new places I will message you for some new places to fish.

Any updates? I was curious on how the carp fishing is out that way. I do well at some of the surrounding ponds in the industrial area, but they are inundated with turtles presently.

Lewisville Railroad Park was a great place for crappie until the flood of spring (May) 2015. The Trinity flooded the whole park and all the crappie and cats escaped up and down stream. The dock there is nice but the fish have moved on. There is a really nice fishing dock at Stewart Creek Park in The Colony, we've had some good crappie and sandies catches right before dark and until about an hour after dark. If you do fish the RR Park ponds and have luck please report back. Good fishing fish

I have fished the park for the last couple of days almost caught a massive carp on the bank with my fishing net. I did not think the fish would be so strong I got him out but with just two flops made it back into the pond, also have caught drum, blue gill, a couple of nice bass, and crappie. I remember that flood me and a buddy took his kayaks and took pictures of us on the football fields fishing's lol. I've had great luck so far this week at the pond will try out the other two today to see if they are any good as I always fish the middle
pond.

Will take more picture when I go out today and keep you guys updated on how it goes. I'm going to try some top water lure action today, one evening while fishing the fishes seem to explode right out the water I must have seen at least 15 fish strike the top of the water by the little dock.

I went back out today but only got a few bites was trying out the Yum curly tail worm in tequila sunrise color(not a good bate at this location), had a bad time due to the new line I was trying out. Gliss monotex would not recommend, the line is great to cast super far but once it wears, the line gets super rough and then wind knots come. Had to call it an early day around 8:30 pm today. I did try out the top water lures got 3 good cast on the strike king buzz bate in white did really well before the nightmare happened. Will be going back to try more top water lure as they seem very promising.

I always see the carp hanging out at the end of the pond or by the far left side where you see the cat tails and reeds. Hope this helps on your hunt for the Magic Carp fish

Looking at Google Maps, seems like bank access is pretty good all around?

Which of the 3 ponds are y'all hitting up?

Normally I hit the main pond in the middle, this morning I was trying out the pond behind the base ball field got a lot of good bites on the old buzz bate but no hook set. ( "Im new to this kind of lure and still learning) I know the pond in the back is super deep and have see some giants roaming. Make sure to bring bug spray as the mosquitos are crazy and lately been seeing a lot of ticks as well.

I always bring a machete so I can cut me nice place to stand by the bank as some areas the grass is too tall on the main pond but those hard to get places seem to be where they like to hang out.

Hey TexasZman, the middle pond with the dock gets most of the attention. The L shaped pond on the south end has carp, you can see them in the evening around the bank but have never caught anything from the L pond. Parking is great and bank access is as easy as it gets. if you hit it let us know what you get. Good luck thumb
